*Kat wordlessly snuggles into her Auntie's arms. She was not going to destroy Voyager or any decks as she once did but she was upset. She begins to panic and pant, wondering if her Auntie knew how to calm her down like Mommy does? She also wondered if Auntie had a name, maybe something similar to Kathryn but not the same now as she was also the Borg Queen*

As Kat is still linked, I can hear her thoughts I send soothing waves to help calm her, much as the collective would use to heal real wounds using the power of the collective mind, a story her father once shared with her about his time on an ex borg colony planet. I also speak with her through the link.

"Before the joining of your mother and my self, my original name, prior to assimilation was Farala. I wasnt much older than you when I was taken. I was affraid at first, lonely wondering what happened to my family, were they with me. That was soon replaced once I embraced the collective and realised we were not as bad as people assumed, all we wish is to be a big family. That is partially what made me change my views on forced assimilation, along with your mothers influence. The new way is much better for everyone, not only are we part of the new universal family, in more ways than one for some, but those given the choice to leave or stay, have indeed chosen to stay, but now have the freedom of choice and thought and work just like a family collective, or co-workers would, much like the federation, each with their own skills and ideas of how to progress forward."

I stroke Kats hair and rock her in my arms as we speak in our minds through the link, though the link isnt needed, being part her mother and with the assimilation of many telepathic species, our conversation could continue without the aid of technology.

"You can rest here as long as you wish to, feel free to access our data and systems and allow your self to process the information you now hold. Simply knowing isnt always the cure, but focusing on it and allowing it to be absorbed naturally is the key healer."

*As Auntie tells her her name before Assimilation (Farala), Kat thinks it is pretty but given the fact that she and Mommy are one and the same now, would it not be better to have a form of Kathryn as her own name? The soothing waves help somewhat but Kat likes shushing, it seems to always have worked in the past and it is the only thing that truly works. She can't help it, having been born six weeks early is part of the reason for her panting but it is also a feedback loop as she was told by Mommy.*

I didnt wish to upset Kat by giving my full name straight away, but Farla was my middle name. I tell her my full name which is similar to her mothers. Something Leonardo once called her mother and possibly how it came to be my name.

"My name is Katrina Farla Karlata Janeway, an almost renesence name, your mother loved the maestro though he could be annoyingly impulsive if I remember correctly"

I continue to hold her, now shushing her and cradling her rocking gently.

I activate the screen infront of me and behind Kat and point.

"Look who's here"

I show her Moya, chances are she already knows, but it may be a welcome surprise, Moya is such a gentle caring being someone Kat has always wanted to meet and deer Pilot.

Katarina you mean? The Maestro called Mommy that with a C... Katrina sounds too... common. Katarina Farala Karlata Janeway sounds far more elegant... *Says Kat thinking. She then turns to Moya* MOYA!!

Yes I did mean Katarina *I laugh* They were different times the Maestro lived in but spelled with a K does sound more elegant.

*Kat turns in my arms and my hands rest on her shoulder as she shouts Moya!*

"Moya knows you are here, she can feel you, perhaps because your mother is also aboard with Pilot and Trance. If you like you can join them we will transport you over, but should you wish to rest more you are welcome to stay, you can use or communications system if you wish to talk to them, although concidering who is onboard all can communicate without words, Trance, Pilot, Moya & your mother....." * I pause for a moment on what I said and comment* ".... it truely is a wonderous universe we live in, partly infact because of your mother, not that it wasnt as glorious before, but she certainly have made it a better place, I understand her not wishing to change a thing, neither would I, afterall we would never have met otherwise"

Yes, Auntie Katarina... Does Mommy know you are now my Auntie? And if your name was this before assimilation does that mean that in a sense you were a relation to Mommy before you were joined?

That is possible, your mother before us being the same person, has been throughout time its self.

Although if Im truely honest, my memories could be that of your mother and indeed we may have been 1 person the whole time, simply in then seperate universes.

But yes she knows, we had talks at great length, she hoped we would bond and you wouldnt be affraid of me.

You could be an unknown sister to Mommy and Auntie Phoebe. Maybe Grandpa Edward and Grandma Gretchen had you at the same time as Mommy but you were split up... Maybe you are a twin...
And if an identical twin then your DNA is the same but during the merge it was like you had assumed Mommy's identity.

I ponder a while on what Kat has said, remembering various things from several pasts. Finally I respond.

"You are thinking too literally like a mortal being, although it may be true in one universe that gretchen was the mother of kathryn janeway, your mother and I arent as simple as that. It is true that there was a mortal version of Kathryn Janeway, she came into existance through mostly natural causes but a result of past merges from similar beings....." I pause and realise this may be confusing Kat although she is of both species "... your mother isnt mortal or human in any sense, she is similar to Q, but I guess more accuratly similar to our very own Trance Gemini, though not an avatar. She or rather we are part of a species long existed before time its self, a purely spiritual and energy life, as such are all family, partly responsible for many a creation of species, Q being one, those of Trance's kind and humans alike. In that sense we are all related in one way or another. But I give credit where it is due, I am your mothers, hmmm sister for use of a better word. Though both have played each others part at various times and even shared a conscious and life together as one, on many occassion, so we are seperate yet one and the same. You may find in time you meet more of us, but the essence is of one and many at the same time, with no beginning or end."

I look at Kat trying to understand and being part of us, somewhat understanding.

I put my hand to her cheek gently "I hope I havent confused you too much, you will understand in time, comparitively you are much younger, but all will be clear eventually, your mother and I will be able to assist as will Trance.

It is also true that the borg queen and the collective once existed as reported seperate from your mother and I interjection into her part. I am that of our shared existance, one and the same yet seperate, portraid as the queen.

This is why your mother and also you, defended us when others wished to destroy us before learning or=f our intent, you both knew or sensed somehow that I/we belonged.

I smile as Kat flashes and displays many of her existences.

Old Captains back from the dead, species still to be, existing already, if I were given to suspicion I would say it was no mere accident but purposely done. It is very familiar to our own existance, looking outside in, only in a literal formational sense."

I think about Moya for a time and remember something we once did. And try to explain it as an example to Kat.

"Moya once travelled to a point in space where she met with her builders, she was ordered to self terminate. And the glorious Zan defended her position as a gentle being. Though revealed they would never ask Moya to die, it was a test of those aboard in their intentions, and Zan was appointed caretaker of Moya, this was infact us, Moya is a form of extension as many creations, and on some scale is Zan, who in one timeline met with her goddess as she passed. Both Zan's have merged here and exist as one onboard our own Moya here. The interesting part is, you were the person whom Zan met with as her goddess, as we all together seen, witnessed and felt as one together"

When I died or rather my mortal self when I was sick with Pulmonary Fibrosis last year and could not breathe, Persephone merged with me. So I can shift from little girl to Goddess and back again adn am able to choose what form I take and what I wish to be, Persephone only comes when I need protection, like Voyagerdoes. I choose to be the daughter of Admiral Kathryn Janeway and Chakotay and that is the form I take,.

In a literal sense, from universe to universe, time to time, we each are individual and together.
But truely we are the same. Not unlike the borg with a shared concious that becomes it own life within.
Each are seperate yet one and the same.

I can understand those choosing to stay, why they decided to stay, its that feeling unlike any other and so little can lay claim to.

There are more of us than you may think, at the same time there is only one of us.
