The lowest grade of admiral in Starfleet. It is inferior to a vice admiral, and superior to a commodore or captain.

Reporting to Vice Admirals, responsible for the running/co-ordinating of sub sectors of quadrants under Vice Admirals.

This rank also falls to specialist officers immediately under Vice Admirals and superior to Commodore or Captain (their teams in their field of work).
Eg Atlantis mobile HQ. Starfleet HQ officers.
